“During my time at Konstfack, (art school in Stockholm) many school field trips were made. One was particularly memorable: with the painter Olle Nyman in Saltjö-Duvnäs. We ended up in what I assume is closest to a dream world. What a studio! What a home! What an environment! And what a friendly and pleasant Olle. Everything that he showed us and explained. This is where I understood the seriousness of the game - no doubt! Since then, some of us were called Olle Nyman's grandchildren. A constant flow of music in the studio has influenced the painting. Especially the classical jazz with its roots in the 20s which had its peak in the mid 60s and still lives with young practitioners. While I am writing this, Shostakovich's 9 comes out of the speakers. You can learn a lot from music!”
