Solitude Standing is a brand new performative artwork created and recorded in Toronto, Canada in December 2020 to January 2021, consisting of four chapters -- 'Leave Me Alone !' 'The Forest,' 'Solitude Standing' and 'Never Leave Me Alone!'
Each chapter is performed time-wise in parallel with the ongoing art exhibition and the performance represents the artist’s inner struggles under the current pandemic situation. Except for the first chapter that is made in 2020, all chapters are made in 2021.
“The Forest” is where my blood vessel in the brain connects with dead trees and fallen leaves. When they get clogged or intermingled with my everyday struggles with threads, I will need to cut them with a pair of scissors. “The Forest” is everywhere in everyone’s minds. Now I need to get out from it, and go back to the streets.
For the month of November, each week, we will present one video from the series Solitude Standing, the 4th one being the grand finale!
