Tarantula: Authors And Art Crew Doing A Chocolate Blind Tasting
Tasting specialty origin chocolates can be a transformative experience. These chocolates are made by the passionate craft chocolate-makers who trough transformation of the cacao beans to the chocolate want to keep the character of the beans and tell the story of cacao origin, terroir, people who grow it. If you are open to it, you can find that story in the chocolate, and in return chocolate can inspire you to discover and tell your story.
There is a deep connection between the chocolate and us, humans. Chocolate melts at the temperature of the human body, and there is no other food that can do that. Melting of the chocolate in our mouth can be transformative, not only for the chocolate that turns from a solid piece to a smooth creamy fluid, but for us as well.  If we open our mind and soul, if we melt our walls and let chocolate awake our senses, memories and creativity, we can set ourselves to the journey of creation and discovery.
Inspired by David Nilsen’s tasting with artist Katie Clark Gabbard and Hazel Lee’s “The Chocolate Tasting Flavour Map” I invited four wonderful artist and collaborates from the “Tarantula: Authors and Art” publication to join me on the journey of tasting 3 origin bean to bar chocolates made by TAMAN Artisan Chocolate and creating artworks inspired by it. It turned out to be a real adventure for all of us.
You can find out how we stated this journey in Tarantula: Authors and Art’s very first podcast and to find out where the chocolate took us and what we brought back from this journey stay tuned for the second part that is coming soon!

Part 1 - Blind Chocolate Tasting
Get out some chocolate, papers, pens, paints, cameras, instruments and join the Tarantula: Authors And Art crew on this journey
This episode and blind tasting was possible by the generosity of TAMAN Artisan Chocolates who shipped their new bean to bar chocolates to us for this special occasion. The whole Tarantula: Authors And Art would like to extend their gratitude to the chocolate master Stiv Kahlina who lays behind these tasty creations.

Part 2 - Does Chocolate Have The Power Of Transformation?
Tarantula: Authors And Art gathers after a weekend to reflect and share the art that they created.
